Highlands Council Awards Grant to Bloomingdale Borough for Sustainable Economic Redevelopment Plan - (12/5/2019) The Highlands Council has approved a grant award of $70,000 to the Borough of Bloomingdale in Passaic County, to complete a Sustainable Economic Redevelopment Plan. The plan will focus on identifying strategies and tactics to stimulate economic activity and growth along the Borough’s Main Street. (read)

Highlands Council seeks proposals to develop a region-wide Economic Sustainability Plan for the Highlands - (9/10/2019) The Highlands Council is currently soliciting proposals to develop an Economic Sustainability Plan for the Highlands Region. The plan will include an economic profile, identification of key industries and sectors, strategies and policies to secure future economic growth, and an implementation action plan for the ensuing 10 years. Mobile Map and Enhanced Signage Coming for New Jersey Highlands Trail - (7/22/2019) The Highlands Council recently voted to award a contract to the New York-New Jersey Trail Conference to provide digital mapping and create a trail and roadside signage system for the New Jersey portion of the Highlands Trail. The project is expected to be finished by early 2021. (read)
