Press Release: Highlands Council Awarded $2.4M for Preservation through Federal Highlands Conservation Act - (1/30/2017) The Highlands Water Protection and Planning Council was recently notified of a $2,420,000 award that will be used to help preserve more than 270 acres in portions of the Passaic and Wallkill Watershed Management Areas of the New Jersey Highlands Region. Press Release: Chester Borough Strengthens Planning Efforts with Highlands Plan Conformance - (7/21/2016) The Highlands Council has approved a Petition for Plan Conformance from the Borough of Chester in Morris County. The Borough is located entirely in the Planning Area of the Highlands Region, where conformance with the Highlands Regional Master Plan is entirely voluntary. (read)

Highlands Council 2016 Land Preservation Status Report Released - (7/20/2016) The Highlands Council has released a report providing data related to preserved land and potentially developable land throughout the Highlands Region. Data was collected through December 2015. (read)

Report: Potable Water Supplied in 2011 by New Jersey’s Highlands - (2/24/2016) In December 2015, the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection's Division of Water Supply and Geoscience released an updated analysis regard the use of Highlands water throughout the state. (read)
